Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach Florida | Discount Miami Tours

Posted by Manny Miami on 2nd Jan 2015

In February of 1990, a committee of Holocaust survivors from the Miami area gathered and planned a Holocaust Memorial in remembrance of the six million Jewish people who were forever lost in Europe, due to the toll of war, and the pure insanity of the Nazi movement in occupied Europe. Consequently, a massive sculpture was erected in Miami Beach at the memorial park that serves as the centerpiece of the memorial. The structure is that of  a giant outstretched arm pointing to the sky with an Auschwitz tattoo and surrounded by the countless victims of the Holocaust climbing the arm in an attempt to escape their fate. The many vignettes of victims surrounding the main arm sculpture are life size and standing beside it can be very impressionable.
